The mainland agent is responsible for providing intermodal sea and rail transportation from Qingdao to Russia, the CIS and Europe, reported Hong Kong Shipping Gazette referring to Xinhua.GES transports locomotives, liquid helium. GLOBE Express Services (GES), a 3PL logistics solutions provider, says it was recently contracted to transport four, 80-ton locomotives from Hong Kong to Adelaide by a locomotive leasing company based in Australia.Each locomotive was loaded by a high-powered hoist from Hung Hom pier on to a special barge, and from the barge to a specialised vessel. This is an ongoing project for GES, and subsequent train carriages are expected to be transported to Australia, Europe and other parts of the world.Globe's Singapore office has also entered an agreement to move refrigerated liquid helium for an international supplier of industrial gases.This task requires the regular transport of laden 40-foot shipper owned tank (SOT) containers from the US and/or Doha to various destinations, and the return of empty 40-foot SOTs with helium residues back to the country of origin. The project began in September, and has so far included full container shipments from Singapore to Doha, and empty container returns from Seattle, Washington to Singapore. (Source: RZD Partner)
