The member lines of the Oceania Vessel Sharing Agreement -- Hamburg Süd, Hapag-Lloyd and Maersk Line -- today announced a streamlining of their vessel schedule in the West Coast North America to Australia/New Zealand trade.
The Pacific Southwest String (PSW) will, in the future, depart from Los Angeles every Sunday and offer non-stop service to Melbourne in 17 days.
The full rotation of the service will be Los Angeles – Melbourne – Sydney – Tauranga – Suva (fortnightly) – Papeete (fortnightly) – Ensenada (fortnightly) – Los Angeles.
The Pacific Northwest String (PNW) will call Oakland, Seattle (fortnightly), Vancouver (fortnightly), Los Angeles and proceed to Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland and return via Honolulu (monthly) to Oakland.
The new rotation will start with the sailing of the “Santa Federica” (Voyage 693NB) from Auckland on December 22 in the PNW string, and the “Hansa Flensburg” voyage (Voyage 895SB) on December 3 from Los Angeles in the PSW string.
The Oceania VSA operates a total of 13 vessels offering 104 departures per year, and with this new service enhancement, provides the only non-stop service from the West Coast to Australia.
